Morten Torkildsen is a BSc and MSc graduate in shipping, trade and finance from City University Business School in London. He has extensive
experience in investigations of fraud in various sectors, both in Norway and internationally. He worked for the Norwegian
Serious Fraud Office (ØKOKRIM) for a number of years and was previously head of KPMG’s forensic services in Norway.
Internationally he has worked for the United Nations as a financial investigator, and he was the prosecution’s expert witness on finance in the war crimes case against Slobodan Milosevic before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague. More recently he has formed part of the team pleading the genocide case on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina against Serbia and Montenegro before the International Court of Justice.
In 1995 he was the second foreign investigator to be given “section 2 powers” by the United Kingdom’s Serous Fraud Office in order to conduct investigations within the United Kingdom.
