Egil Utgård has previous experience as special advisor from a special task force within the tax authorities in the Oslo region combating tax fraud. He has worked for more than twelve years in other positions in the Norwegian tax authorities, and has extensive experience of investigating corruption and financial irregularities. He has also experience from working as a private accountant.
